Proposed unlimited out-of-district players highlight MAHA meetings
A new rule proposal that would allow an unlimited number of out-of-district players at the Midget 18U level will headline the annual MAHA summer meetings at the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant July 12-15.
Currently Midget 18U teams are limited to six out-of-district players.
A proposal that would allow an unlimited amount of out-of-district players at the Midget 16U level (from a maximum of six) was submitted at the MAHA annual winter meetings in January. But that proposal was sent to a special committee and could be voted on in Mt. Pleasant only after additional action by the voting MAHA directors.
In all, 62 new rules proposals for the 2018-19 season will be up for vote. Another one drawing interest would raise the limit of out-of-state players allowed on Girls Tier I teams from three to four.
