A Hockey Mom would make a great Vice-President
Dear Hockey Mom,
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was chosen to run on the Republican ticket for VP and I heard her son played AAA Hockey here in Michigan. Do you think a Hockey Mom would make a good Vice-President?
“Would a Hockey Mom make a good Vice-President”? Are you kidding?
In my opinion, a Hockey Mom could be a great President. Think about it: The qualities of a Hockey Mom mirror those of a strong leader.
A Hockey Mom has these qualities that would suit her well in politics.
1. Courage – no fear. A Hockey Mom is not afraid to talk about any subject because she has had to face coaches who don’t give her player enough ice time, team managers who miscalculate the ice bill, referees who can be inconsistent, and hockey parents who are extremely opinionated.
2. Strong work ethic – tireless. A Hockey Mom has to endure many hours of work. Driving, cleaning equipment, running the house, sitting through countless hours of games and practices, and don’t forget the work it takes to prepare for and attend out of town tournaments. Those are just a few examples of her work.
3. Superior time management. A Hockey Mom is organized. Juggling kids schedules, meals, school activities – you name it, the Hockey Mom keeps track of it. These moms are organized.
4. Character – strong values and self control. Hockey Moms are definitely strong character people who strive for fair play and never forget team members’ special occasions and end-of-the-year coaches gifts. Don’t forget the treats in the locker room, too. They are always thinking of others. Self- control is a must.
Although Hockey Moms can get a bit emotional and revved up, they are pussycats compared to the Hockey Dads.
Yes, Undecided, a Hockey Mom is an excellent choice for Vice-President. She will get my vote!
