HoneyBaked '99 wins Golden Blades in Sarnia
The HoneyBaked ’99 team won the 16th Annual Lambton AAA Golden Blades Tournament, which was in Sarnia.
HoneyBaked began with a 2-2 tie against host Lambton Jr. Sting but bounced back with a 7-1 win over the Huron Perth Lakers. Next was a 3-1 victory over the Mississauga Senators and a 10-4 decision over the Sun County Panthers.
That put HoneyBaked into the championship game against Little Caesars.
HoneyBaked jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first two minutes and rolled to a 6-1 win to take the tournament title.
“It was nice to see our kids play well together; it was a true team effort,” said HoneyBaked coach Darin Young. “It was also nice to see two MWEHL teams advance to the finals and we look forward to continuing this rivalry and tradition between our two teams throughout this season and hopefully years to come.”
Members of the ’99 HoneyBaked team are: Christian Rawling, Adam Schornak, Joey Dumas, Connor Fredrick, Jake Young, Gregory Pine, Jack Robbins, Brett Sandora, Jon Sanderson, Connor McGinnis, Thomas Hernandez, Cameron Babiak, Dominic Barton, Marcus Morton, Paul Cotter, Brendan Murphy and Jake Transit. The coaches are: Darin Young, Mark Sandora, Dan Robbins and Derek Rawling.
